Concerts and repertoire

Concerts

The choirs that sign up for the festival have the opportunity to perform together with other choirs on several occasions:

> concerts in town (Salerno)
> concerts on the territory
> evening and night concerts
> Holy Mass

Each choir, in the registration form, can suggest the appointments to which it is interested, also indicating precise musical programs as required. It will be the organizer's responsibility to coordinate the management of the concerts, to combine the choirs and the place for the performance and to give adequate communication.

How to perform

CONCERTI IN TOWN
They are programmed during the various days of the festival and take place indoors in the city of Salerno (churches, museums, concert halls, theaters, castles and sanctuaries). In these concerts there are three to five participating choirs, with a 20-minute repertoire each with a homogeneous character.

CONCERTS ON THE SURROUNDING TERRITORY

They are scheduled during the days of the festival (depending on the members and the terms of participation) and take place indoor in the late afternoon and evening in the different cities of the territory (churches, museums, concert halls, theaters, castles and sanctuaries) as for example Naples, Amalfi, Pompei, Ravello and others. A special program is planned in the splendid city of Matera (transfer costs to Matera at festival's charge). In these concerts there are three to five participating choirs, with a repertoire of 20 minutes each.

APERITIF/EVENING AND NIGHT CONCERTS
They are outdoor concerts held during aperitif hours or late in the city of Salerno (Santa Teresa Beach, squares of the Old Town, Castello di Arechi, other places of prestige for citizenship). In this occasion three to five choirs perform, with a repertoire lasting 15 minutes each.

SUNG HOLY MASSES
The choirs who wish it, are invited to accompany a liturgy on the morning of Sunday 8th July in a church in Salerno or in some nearby towns, performing sacred or religious songs.

Repertoire

Each performance must have a stylistically homogeneous and coherent repertoire choosen from:

> sacred or religious music
> profane cultured polyphony
> popular and folk music
> opera music
> spiritual and gospel
> vocal pop and pop music

The timing is specified for each kind of exhibition. Each choir can propose up to a maximum of three different programs. The calendar of performances will be established on the basis of the repertoire presented and of the choir's composition, with the aim of adapting the music proposals to the places hosting the performances.
