Where?

Torino, Auditorium of the G. Verdi Conservatory

When?

Friday 25th June 2021
Preliminary round (in 2 stages): 17 participants will be admitted plus the winner of the 5th national competition for conductors Le mani in suono (February 2020). 

Saturday 26th June 2021
Semi-final rounds (in 2 stages): a maximum of 10 conductors will be admitted.

Sunday 27th June
Final rounds (in 2 stages: rehearsl and performance): a maximum of 5 conductors will be admitted.

Who?

The competition is open to all the choir conductors born after 1st November 1980: they also must be 18 years old on the competition date. 

Jury

The international jury is made up of 5 music personalities: Justin Doyle (England), Georg Grün (Germany), Urša Lah (Slovenia), Lorenzo Donati (Italy) and Marco Faelli (Italy).

Choirs

The competition foresees the involvement of five choirs at the different stages' contests.
Preliminary round: Coro Artemusica of Valperga (female choir), Genova Vocal Ensemble
Semifinal round: Coenobium Vocale of Piovene Rocchette (male choir), Turin chamber Choir (mixed choir)
Final round: Zürcher Sing-Akademie from Switzerland (mixed choir)

Prizes

First prize: € 2.000 and diploma
Second prize: € 1.500 and diploma
Third prize: € 1.000 and diploma

Special prizes:
European Choral Association-Europa Cantat special prize
Best italian conductor special prize: € 500
“G. Abbà” special prize for the youngest conductor admitted to the final: € 500
Final concert Audience prize: € 500

Scholarship Noël Minet 

The participants of the Fosco Corti International Competition can apply for the Noël Minet Scholarship of the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat. In 2021 the Noël Minet Fund will offer scholarships up to 500€ each. Deadline for applications: 31/03/2021. You can find information and details on ECA-EC website
